You can purchase the Almont4WD protections or protection kit on the website www.almont4wd.com, as well as in the international network of authorized distributors and 4×4 workshops/preparators.
Almont4WD protections are manufactured with an aerospace alloy for civil and military use. Fusing aluminium, magnesium, titanium, silicon and manganese. Achieving maximum rigidity and resistance with a balanced reduction in weight and absorption of strong impacts to avoid transmitting the energy of the impact itself to the vehicle frame.
The design and manufacture of Almont4WD protections and mechanical components are from Spain. As well as its base materials, they are 100% European.
Depending on the vehicle model and its maximum weight, 6mm is more recommended for light 4×4 vehicles, 8mm for heavy vehicles, and 6 or 8mm for medium or industrial 4×4 vehicles, depending on the use we want to give to the vehicle. It is not the same; a family excursion or light off-road use, where 6mm is perfect; or if it is a continental crossing with deserts and rocks, where we recommend 8mm because it is 30% more resistant than 6mm protections.
There is no need to modify anything, the Almont4WD protections already come with the hardware and supports to be anchored directly to the original holes and threads of your vehicle.
According to European regulations, it is not currently mandatory to homologate the protections, since they are a replacement and protective part, which does not affect pedestrians, the mechanics, or the structure of the vehicle. Even so, if you need to install other components and accessories and they require homologation, we recommend that you include it in the technical data sheet together with the certificate / manual that is attached to the protections.
In case of purchase, what is in the Almont4WD packages. Inside the packages you will find the protection(s) that we have purchased, the corresponding steel supports for anchoring them, the pre-installed screws, a certificate-instruction manual and one sticker.
Technical Questions
The tools are generally a 17mm open-end wrench, a 13mm wrench, a 5mm Allen wrench and a 6mm wrench.
Maintenance is basic. A pressure wash once a year; or two or three pressure washes if used on saline or muddy terrain.
It is advisable to check the tightness of the screws once a year.
Yes, you can install a rescue WINCH kit with the protections installed, or mount the Almont4WD protections with the WINCH already installed.
Generally, you can install the protections with a non-original bumper, but you must first check which Almont4WD protection model fits your bumper model. If in doubt, you can contact us by email at info@almont4wd.com
Yes, Almont4WD protections can be installed with a non-original raised suspension.
No, Almont4WD protections cannot be installed if modifications have been made to the chassis, frame, axles or suspension stays, since the original anchors will surely have been modified.
No, the Almont4WD protections cannot be installed if the original transmission, stabilizer bar or DIFFDROP KIT supports have been modified or replaced, since the protections would not fit with said modifications.
No, Almont4WD protections cannot be installed if the body supports or “BODY-LIFT KIT” are modified, since the protections would not fit with the body.
No, Almont4WD protection cannot be installed on the original fuel tank if this tank has been replaced with one of greater capacity.
The 3-year warranty covers breakage due to cracking of the protections themselves. It does not cover dents or deformations or damage to the vehicle.
